Ofsted

Whilst the outcome of the report was clearly disappointing, it is important to stress that school had already identified many of the issues raised by Ofsted and were taking proactive steps to address them. Action was under way before the inspection took place and the benefits of some of this work are already becoming clear.

The school’s acting leadership has only been in place for a very short time, but many new ways of working have been introduced to raise standards and improve outcomes, as well as being part of the Learning Accord Multi Academy Trust. We are also accessing a wide range of support and our absolute priority is to continue developing as quickly as possible.

Ofsted did highlight important strengths, including the safeguarding, behaviour and development of our children, but we have a clear focus on improvements and we are confident that standards are rising.

We are immensely proud of our role in the local community and we know that staff, parents and governors share the same ambitions for our school. Since the report was published, parents have been hugely supportive of everything we are trying to achieve.

Our recent report can be found by clicking here.

Helme Review April 2019

On 27th March 2019, Helme C of E Academy took part in a review of our teaching and learning and all procedures in school including pupil voice, progress, behaviour and of course Safeguarding. Please open the document to see what they said about us!

Parent View

Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about your child's school.  There will be 12 questions to answer, for example, ‘My child is happy at this school' with a choice of responses:

  • Strongly agree
  • Agree
  • Disagree
  • Strongly disagree
  • Don’t know

The questions have been carefully chosen to cover those issues that parents have told Ofsted are the most important to them. They are also designed to provide Ofsted with the information to support decisions about inspection and will give head teachers a direct route into gathering the views of their parent group.

You can access the Parent View site by clicking here.
