The photo shows children of all ages working together

Our children say that 'Helme is a small school that makes us feel big'.

Choosing the right school for your child is important. You need to be sure that we will teach them well, nurture them carefully and help them grow into confident happy  young people who are eager to learn, play and strive to achieve  their potential.

We have a caring family atmosphere, where we know every child as an individual. The sense of community is strong and as a Church of England Aided School we have close links with Christ Church, Helme.  This adds an important spiritual element to the education we can offer our pupils.  We positively welcome those from all faith denominations as well as those of no faith.

Located in a glorious position, we take every possible opportunity to enjoy our surroundings and to provide a stimulating and inspiring education.

The school is not part of a local catchment area which means all our pupils make a positive choice to come to us. Families appreciate the school’s family atmosphere where children care for and support each other.

We offer a rich and diverse curriculum and additional benefits to our pupils which include:

  •     Learning French from the age of 4  in a school recognised as Primary specialists in this area
  •     Working with and learning about the lives of our link schools across the world
  •     A wide range of musical experiences from singing to whole class clarinet lessons
  •     Opportunities to participate in a wide variety of sporting activities including archery and golf and competitive sport
  •     The innovative use of ICT
  •     A focus on dramatic and visual arts including participation in the Honley High School Royal Shakespeare hub programme
  •     A wide and varied programme of after school activities
  •     Walking Bus service
  •     Breakfast Club
  •     Links with an established After School Club

We believe we have much to offer and warmly invite you to consider our school.

To get a true feel for our approach, why not arrange a visit and see for yourself?
